After his two years in the army, at the age of eighteen, Carlo returned to the cathedral and was ordained as a priest. As he could not bear to kill another human being, he was given the job of a medical pilot, which he enjoyed, as being in the helicopter allowed him to be closer to Heaven, and his late mother. When he was sixteen, Carlo was conscripted into the Italian Army. One day, when Carlo was ten years old, she was tragically killed in an explosion, and Carlo was taken in by a priest at a cathedral.
